(Undated)– The ongoing dry conditions, low humidity and wind have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a fire weather watch for a good deal of northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota. It goes into effect at 11:00 am this (Wed.) morning and will continue through this (Wed.) evening.
The National Weather Service says a southwest wind gusting to 35 mph, humidity as low as 17 percent, and very dry vegetation will create a very high fire danger. Officials say any fire that does get going will likely spread quickly.
