(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake man was seriously injured Sunday when a vehicle collided with an electric scooter he was riding.
An accident report from the Spirit Lake Police Department says it took place a little after 3:00 pm at the intersection of 23rd Street and Highway 71. It says 67-year-old Donna Gembler of Spirit Lake was driving 2009 Nissan southbound and was turning left onto 23rd Street and that 48-year-old Shane Nelson of Spirit Lake was riding an electric scooter northbound when the two collided.
Nelson sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare.
