(Sanborn)– No injuries were reported Wednesday when a vehicle collided with a garage in Sanborn.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year-old Elizabeth Smith of Alton was driving a 2016 Jeep Wrangler while delivering mail. An accident report says Smith was getting out of the vehicle to deliver a package, thinking she had the vehicle in park when actually it was still in gear. The report says Smith then got back in the vehicle and accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. The vehicle collided with the garage wall pushing it and the garage door about three feet.
Damage to the structure was estimated at $20,000. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
