(Spencer)– Minor injuries were reported Monday in a collision involving a van and semi at the north intersection of Highways 18 and 71, or the North “Y” in Spencer.
The Sheriff’s Office says Levi Griffin of Holstein was driving a 2009 Peterbilt semi westbound on Highway 71. Authorities say he had stopped for a stop sign and pulled into the path of a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van being driven southbound on Highway 71 by Amy Hildreth of Terril.
Hildreth was taken to Spencer Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and a complaint of pain and was released.
NO injuries were reported to Griffin.
35-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the semi driven by Griffin; the van driven by Hildreth sustained an estimated 15-thousand dollars in damage.
Griffin was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
The collision took place shortly after 7:30 a.m.
