Van & Motorcycle Collide In Milford; Minor Injuries Reported

(Milford)– A collision today (Thursday) in Milford involving a van and a motorcycle sent one person to the hospital.

Milford police say 56-year-old Nancy Espinoza of Milford was southbound on Highway 71 and was starting to turn left onto County Road A34. Police say due to another vehicle, Espinoza couldn’t see an oncoming motorcycle being driven by 48-year-old Thomas Ditsworth of Spirit Lake. The two collided in the intersection.

Ditsworth was treated on the scene by Milford Fire and Rescue and was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare where he was treated and released.

No injuries were reported to Espinoza.

Eight thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Ditsworth; about a thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2000 Pontiac van driven by Espinoza.

The mishap took place shortly before 3:00 p.m.

Milford police were assisted by Milford Fire and Rescue, the Arnolds Park Police Department and Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics.
