Updates Given On Several Ongoing Projects In Spencer

July 22, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– The Spencer City Council earlier this week was updated on the status of several ongoing projects. The city’s engineer reported that paving on West 4th Street is now complete…

“The seeding dates don’t open until August 10th through the D.O.T so we’re looking at about a month here to get it seeded and hydro mulched and then we’ll get that project closed out. The rocket slide, the sidewalks have been constructed on the project. The contractor has a little cleanup work to do. They need to place the cap on the slide. Jim says that the rubber mulch that’s going to be placed is under a separate contract. Out at the airport the contractor continues to work on the interior and exterior of the building, the terminal building. And then at the P.D. parking lot, Diamond Concrete finished backfilling the pavements last week. They also graded the new green space located on the south side of the parking lot. Seeding on that job will take place in the middle of August, unless they get the sprinkler system up and going, then we’ll get it seeded earlier.”

It was also reported that work was expected to resume late this week on the West Leech Park boat ramp. That project had been temporarily suspended due to high water on the Little Sioux River.
