November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– An underage alcohol party earlier this week at a rural Spirit Lake address resulted in citations being issued to several underage partygoers and the arrest of a Milford teen on drug charges.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the 1800 block of 160th Street of rural Spirit Lake this past Tuesday evening. Upon arriving deputies discovered over 45 young people at the residence. Alcohol was found and seized and what a news release says were “several” citations were issued for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

In addition, authorities say 18-year-old Lucas Coleman of Milford was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver…marijuana…a class “D” felony; and failure to affix a drug tax stamp…also a class “D” felony.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by its K-9 Unit, the Spirit Lake Police Department, Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
