(Spencer)– What originated as an investigation into underage drinking last week led to the arrest of a Spencer man on a drug charge.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy last Wednesday pulled over a vehicle as part of an investigation into a report of underage drinking.
Upon investigating, the driver, 18-year-old Damon Kruse, admitted there had been drinking at his residence and that had some drug paraphernalia in his bedroom.
A consent search of the residence at 301 West Fourth Street apartment number four in Spencer turned up several items said to be drug paraphernalia.
Kruse was then arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
