(Estherville)– The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office has released details into a two vehicle collision January 5th that sent four people to the hospital.
Sheriff Mike Martens says it happened around 4:30 pm at the intersection of 370th Avenue and 230th Street. He says 71-year-old Martin Juhl of Sherburn was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup southbound when he failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a 2007 Buick driven by 37-year-old Jodi Subbert of rural Graettinger. Both vehicles left the road and came to rest in the ditch and on some adjacent private property.
Subbert and two children in her vehicle, ages 7 and 9, as well as Juhl, were transported by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Wallingford and Estherville Ambulance Services; the Wallingford and Estherville Fire Departments; Emmet County Emergency Management and the Emmet County Secondary Roads Department.
Martens says charges are pending against Juhl and that the collision remains under investigation.
