(Hospers)– A two vehicle collision late Thursday afternoon in Hospers sent one person to the hospital.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says Miriam Ajanel-Cruz, age 27, of Sheldon, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Hospers Drive North and was stopped at a stop sign. Tiffanie Tatsumi, age 36, of Sheldon, was driving a 2014 Ford Taurus southbound on Highway 60. An accident report says Ajanel-Cruz pulled into the intersection and was attempting to make a left turn onto Highway 60 when the collision occurred.
Tatsumi was transported by the Hospers Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
The Chevrolet sustained approximately $8,000 in damage. The Ford sustained approximately $10,000 in damage.
Ajanel-Cruz was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way at a Stop Sign.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Sheldon Police Department, Sheldon Ambulance, Hospers Fire Department, and Hospers Ambulance.
