Two-Vehicle Collision Injures One Person, Sends Another To Jail

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision this (Mon.) morning near the intersection of East 8th Street and 4th Avenue East in Spencer sent one person to the hospital and another to jail.

The Spencer Police Department says 34-year-old Megan Ryan of Spencer was northbound on 4th Avenue East near the intersection with East 8th Street while 56-year-old Dale Hach of Spencer was eastbound on East 8th Street and was approaching the intersection. Police say Hach continued through the intersection, colliding with the vehicle driven by Ryan.

Ryan was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital where she was treated for lacerations to her forearms. No injuries were reported to Hach, who was arrested for driving while his license was suspended and was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

$5,000 in damage was estimated to a Toyota Camry driven by Ryan; $2,500 in damage was estimated to a 2006 Ford F150 driven by Hach.

The collision took place shortly after 10:00 a.m.
