Two-Vehicle Collision In Spencer Injures Two People

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision this (Friday) afternoon in Spencer sent two people to the hospital.

Spencer police say vehicles driven by 87-year-old Ramona Hanson of Ruthven and 63-year-old Sue Hubbard of Spencer collided in the intersection of First Avenue East and East Second Street.

Hanson and Hubbard were both taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital. Hubbard complained of head and neck pain and sustained lacerations to her hands and arms; Hanson complained of chest pain and shortness of breath.

Police say the air bag in the vehicle driven by Hubbard had deployed.

Two thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2001 Buick LeSabre driven by Hanson and to a 1994 Chevrolet Corsica Hubbard was driving.

Hanson was cited for failure to yield.

The collision took place shortly before 1:30 p.m.
