October 18, 2025

(Okoboji)– Two people from Minneapolis have been arrested in connection with theft of a vehicle in Okoboji earlier this week.

The Okoboji Police Department says they were notified Monday, October 13th, of a theft of a motor vehicle in progress at Lake Okoboji Resort, or the former Arrowwood. Officers were informed of a blue truck that had left the parking lot after two suspects had forcibly taken the vehicle from a pregnant woman who then fell out of the truck. She was run over on the right side of her body, resulting in serious injury.

The two suspects were later identified as 27-year-old Vaugh Harris and 40-year-old Jessica Nordrum, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They were able to evade lakes area law enforcement and fled the area. A stolen vehicle report was submitted and later Monday afternoon the stolen 2002 GMC Sierra was seen in Blue Earth county, Minnesota where it led officers on a pursuit.

Harris and Nordrum were eventually stopped and arrested. Both were charged with robbery in the 1st degree, assault with a deadly weapon, theft in the 1st degree, assault causing serious injury and operating without the owner’s consent. Both are being held in the Blue Earth County jail on additional charges related to the pursuit.

Okoboji police were assisted by the Spirit Lake, Arnolds Park and Milford Police Departments; the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office; the Department of Public Safety’s Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the Blue Earth County Minnesota Sheriff’s Office.
