Two Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Saturday Near Ruthven

(Ruthven) Clay County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene of a motorcycle accident last Saturday at 1:45 pm. It happened on highway 14 or 310th avenue just north of State highway 18. Homer Martz, age 44 of Laurens, IA was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson when he lost control and crashed into Dequin Sanusi age 42 of Broken Arrow Oklahoma. Sanusi was riding a 2015 Harley Davidson. Sanusi then hit another motorcycle, but the third motorcycle was never located and is believed to have left the scene before deputies arrived. Both Martz and Sanusi were transported to the Spencer Hospital with serious injuries. Clay County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Ruthven and Dickens first responders and Spencer and Palo Alto County Ambulance. The accident remains under investigation.
