Two People Sustain Multiple Injuries In Collision Involving A Motorcycle And A Deer

(Spencer)– Two people were taken to the hospital when a motorcycle collided with a deer early Sunday on Highway 10 near Sioux Rapids. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 58-year-old Michael Cowell of Cornell, Iowa, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson eastbound when he collided with the animal.

Cowell and a passenger were taken by ambulance to a hospital with head injuries and other non-incapacitating injuries.

The motorcycle was totaled.

The collision took place around 12:20 am.

The Spencer Ambulance Service, Sioux Rapids Fire and Rescue and Peterson Fire and Rescue assisted on the scene.
