(Des Moines)– Two northwest Iowans are among those who will serve on the State Soil Conservation and Water Quality Committee. They include Colleen Miller, a farmer from Albert City, and Ramona Nitz a board member of the Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District. Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig announced the appointments Wednesday.
Miller and Nitz are among 12 members that will serve on the committee. Each will have two-year terms.
The committee promotes the adoption of proven water quality practices and provides expert advice and input on technical and financial programs administered by by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. The group will meet quarterly.
