(Washington, D.C.)– Two northwest Iowa airports have been awarded funding through the latest round of grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration.
The Cherokee County Regional Airport will receive $534,542 to purchase land for an additional runway; and the Sheldon Municipal Airport will receive $89,820 to install a vertical/visual guidance system to enhance safety as pilots seek access to runways.
A total of slightly more than $687,000 was made available in the latest round of grants.
