(Whittemore)– An investigation by authorities in Kossuth county into the thefts of some side-by-side vehicles from Martin county, Minnesota has led to the arrests of two men. The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says it learned of the stolen side-by-sides November 10th while investigating some burglaries in the Whittemore and Algona areas.
They say deputies gathered enough information to obtain a search warrant at 302 210th Street near Whittemore. Items reported stolen from both Martin and Kossuth counties were recovered, including power tools and one of the two ATV’s. The second ATV was found at a residence near Corwith, Iowa.
29-year-old Dakota Mullen of Whittemore was arrested in Fairmont and was in possession of a firearm and a motorcycle reported stolen from Algona. He was booked into the Martin county jail on two counts each of felony theft and receiving stolen property, and one count of illegal possession of ammunition. A second suspect, 38-year-old Kenneth Bernard of Oklahoma, was arrested in Kossuth county on a charge of 1st degree theft.
