(Spencer)– An investigation into some threatening messages found at Spencer High School has resulted in charges against two juveniles.
Spencer police say they were notified Tuesday (March 10th) of a threatening message found in a restroom at Spencer High School. A subsequent investigation led to officers finding additional threatening messages in multiple restrooms over several days.
Police say their investigation led to charges being filed against the two juveniles who they say acted independently rather than in concert. They add that through the investigation officers were able to determine the threats were not credible.
In a press release Spencer police thank staff at Spencer High School for their assistance and diligence.
A notification to district patrons by Superintendent Terry Heman says classes in the Spencer Community School district WILL be in session Friday (March 13th) with an additional law enforcement presence.
Heman adds the students found responsible will face both school disciplinary actions and legal consequences.
Heman also reminds and encourages families to speak with their children about the seriousness and consequences of making threats or spreading rumors about school safety.
