(Des Moines)– Two projects in the lakes area have been awarded funding through Resource Enhancement and Protection, or REAP grants.
The city of Milford was awarded $75,000 for the second phase of a project to connect the Dickinson county trail system with one out of Clay county.
The Dickinson County Conservation Board was awarded a $300,000 grant to help with the expansion of the Little Sioux Savannah west of Milford.
The grants were approved during the Natural Resource Commission’s October 12th meeting. The commission is under the auspices of the Iowa DNR. The grants awarded statewide totaled a little more than $3 million.
