(Melvin)– Minor injuries were reported Tuesday in a mishap in Melvin involving a truck.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 52-year-old Gerald Alons of Sanborn was driving a 2005 Freightliner northbound on First Avenue in Melvin when the back of the truck got loose due to the icy streets. Alons tried to slow the vehicle before going into the west ditch, where it overturned.
The truck, owned by Sanborn Propane and Oil Service Incorporated of Sanborn sustained an estimated 40-thousand dollars in damage.
Alons refused medical treatment at the scene.
The mishap took place shortly before 7:30 a.m.
