(Lester)– One person died Tuesday when a train collided with a pickup at a crossing near Lester, in Lyon county.
The Iowa State Patrol says the 2026 Ford pickup westbound on 110th Street and the BNSF train was southbound when the collision occurred. The pickup then rolled and caught fire. The driver of the pickup died in the crash. The name of the victim hasn’t been released, pending notification of family members.
An accident report says the matter is still under investigation.
