November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– A traffic stop Saturday evening in Sheldon resulted in the arrests of two men on drug charges.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy conducted the stop around 10:20 p.m.

Upon investigating, the deputy discovered the driver, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Little Rock, and a passenger, 18-year-old Frederick Hinojosa of George, were allegedly in possession of K-2, or synthetic marijuana.

The juvenile was cited in juvenile court with possession of a controlled substance…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

Hinojosa was arrested and booked into the Sioux county jail on charges of distribution of a simulated controlled substance…an aggravated misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdmeanor.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by its K-9 Unit in the investigation.
