Traffic Stop Results In Multiple Charges

(Spencer)– A Spencer man was arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop back on December 21st.

In a press release, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding in the 3800 mile of 280th Avenue for speeding. Deputies say the driver, 56-year-old Michael Scott of Spencer, was unable to produce a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance or proof of vehicle registration.

Upon further investigation it was discovered Scott was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. He was then arrested and was booked into jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…1st offense; possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…1st offense; failure to provide proof of financial liability; operation without registration and speeding.
