Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against Spirit Lake Teen

(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake teen faces drug charges following a traffic stop this past Friday in the 2500 block of County Road M-56.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.

18-year-old Michael Lawler was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver marijuana…a class “D” felony; unlawful possession of a prescription drug or device…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

Lawler was booked into jail and was released after posting a $6,000 bond.
