Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrest

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A traffic stop earlier this week landed a Dickens woman in jail on drug charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle shortly after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Highway 18 and 170th Avenue for speeding.

A subsequent investigation and search resulted in deputies finding what’s alleged to be multiple items of drug paraphernalia in a purse, along with a controlled substance.

54-year-old Rhonda Cowell was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…a serious misdemeanor; and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say additional charges are possible pending the outcome of lab tests.
