Traffic Stop Results In Arrest Of Mass. Man On Drug Charges

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– A traffic stop this past Saturday in Estherville resulted in the arrest of a Massachusetts man on drug charges.

Estherville police say the stop was conducted around 1:40 a.m. for a traffic violation. Upon investigating they discovered the driver, 20-year-old Austin Lindsay of Whitman, Massachusetts, had been drinking. He was taken into custody for an .02 violation. Under Iowa law, a person under 21 cannot have a blood alcohol content level above .02 and operate a motor vehicle.

While conducting an inventory of Lindsay’s vehicle, officers found two bags of pills that were determined to be prescription drugs that didn’t belong to him. Lindsay was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, a steroid, and possession of a controlled substance, Adderall.

Lindsay was booked into the Emmet county jail and was later released on his own recognizance.
