(Spencer)– A traffic stop Tuesday in the 4300 mile of Highway 71 in Clay county resulted in the arrests of two people on multiple charges.

Authorities say a deputy was attempting to pull over a vehicle and noticed the female driver, 20-year-old Bayli Jordan of Spencer, switch places with a male passenger, 25-year-old Kyle Williams of Des Moines. Williams and Jordan were both taken into custody and were booked into jail.

Upon further investigation, Jordan was allegedly found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and Williams was allegedly found to be in possession of oxycodone.

Jordan was charged with driving while barred, driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia, operation without registration, no insurance, and speeding. Williams was charged with possession of a controlled substance…oxycodone and interference with official acts.

A search warrant was obtained and executed after a K-9 unit that was deployed on the vehicle detected an illegal substance. That resulted in an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia against the two, with Jordan additionally being charged with minor in possession of tobacco.
