(Rock Rapids)– A traffic stop Wednesday in Lyon county resulted in the arrest of a Sioux Center man on multiple charges.
Authorities say the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist an Iowa State Patrol trooper on a traffic stop. While attempting to place the driver under arrest, they say a struggle ensued which resulted in a deputy being punched in the face.
41-year-old Jose Madrid was arrested and charged with assault on persons engaged in certain occupations-bodily injury, assault while participating in a felony and interference with official acts causing bodily injury. He was also charged by the Iowa State Patrol with OWI 3rd offense and other traffic violations. Madrid was booked into the Lyon county jail.
