Traffic Stop in Armstrong Leads to Arrest of 5 people

(Armstrong)-A recent traffic stop in Armstrong lead to the arrest of five individuals. According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, on March 23st at 9:20 pm, a Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a pickup pulling a trailer with no tail lights on 6th Street in Armstrong.

Upon investigation at the scene, in addition to the traffic violation, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and two firearms were discovered in the vehicle.

As a result, the driver, Michael Gutierrez age 24 of Storm Lake was placed under arrest as well as Alexandro Fariasdiego age 22 of San Diego, California, Brandon Gutierrez age 23 of Modesto, California, Cristal Jimenez-Barajas age 20 of Storm Lake and Luis Fernando Jimenez-Barajas age 27 of Storm Lake.

All five were transported to the Emmet County Jail where Michael Gutierrez was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana, 2nd offense), Persons ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons, Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and No Driver’s license. Brandon Gutierrez was booked for Persons ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Fariasdiego was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Persons ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons. Cristal Jimenez-Barajas was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Persons Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons. Luis Fernando Jimenez-Barajas was booked on Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Person ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons and Possession of a Firearm as a Felon.
