(George)– A child was seriously injured this past Friday after being struck by a vehicle in George.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 85-year-old Norwood Geerdes of George was driving a 2006 International pulling a grain trailer when a young child ran into the street. Geerdes couldn’t stop in time and collided with the child.
The child was taken to Avera Hospital in Rock Rapids and was transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital.
The mishap took place a little after 4:30 pm.
