(Spencer)– A “touch a truck” event will be held this Saturday in Spencer. Craig Neiderheiser with the Spencer Daybreakers Kiwanis says it will be going on from 10:00 am until 12 Noon in the parking lot just west of the Clay County Regional Events Center…
“We’ve got everything from fire trucks to police department vehicles to construction equipment, ag equipment, you know, your transportation vehicles like semis, buses. So we’ve got a little bit of everything for the families to come up there and enjoy. Helicopter? Helicopter, yes. I almost forgot the helicopter is the big one. So yep, weather bearing we will have a helicopter there again this year.”
A freewill donation will be accepted…
“Proceeds from the donations that we get go towards our annual scholarship fund. We actually have an endowment fund that we use that we fund to help with those scholarships every year. So we give them away to seniors. I think last year we gave out $3,500 in scholarships which some of that money came from our own pocket but this is a big fundraiser for that event.”
Again Saturday’s event will be going on from 10:00 am until 12 Noon in the parking lot just west of the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer.
