November 10, 2025

(Heron Lake, Mn.)– A three-vehicle collision Sunday on Highway 60 at mile marker 34 near Heron Lake sent two people to the hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 24-year-old Lourdes Nohemy Ramirez Acosta of Worthington was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado westbound and lost control of the vehicle after encountering a patch of snow and ice. It veered across the median and went into the eastbound lanes, colliding with a 2017 Buick Enclave and a 2019 Genesis G80.

Nohemy Ramirez Acosta was taken to the Worthington hospital. The driver of the Buick, 57-year-old Debra Kruse of Comfrey, was taken to the Windom hospital. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Troopers say the road was snow and ice covered. The crash took place a little after 3:30 pm.

The Minnesota DNR, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and fire departments from Heron Lake and Okabena assisted on the scene.
