(Spencer)– A collision this past Thursday involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of Highway 71 and 435th Street in Clay county sent three people to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 27-year-old Anthony Trierweiler was driving a 1997 Chevrolet S-10 southbound on Highway 71 and was waiting to turn east onto 435th Street. Authorities say a 1998 Dodge Ram driven by 40-year-old Kathleen Zeka of Laurens collided with the rear of the vehicle driven by Trierweiler, pushing his vehicle into the path of a 2017 Jeep Renegade driven by 29-year-old Jezebel Velazquez of Sioux Falls.
Trierweiler and Velazquez, along with a passenger in one of the vehicles, 23-year-old Abigail Munger of Storm Lake, were taken to Spencer Hospital.
Zeka was cited for following too closely and no insurance.
