(Spencer)– A three-vehicle collision Thursday near the John Deer dealership on Highway 71 on the south edge of Spencer sent three people to the hospital.
Police say 32-year-old Kevin Braden of Collins, Missouri was southbound on Highway 71 and was attempting to make a left turn when he turned into the path of a northbound vehicle driven by 89-year-old Gladys McMillin of Spencer. Authorities say McMillin’s vehicle struck the rear of a trailer being pulled by the vehicle Braden was driving. McMillin’s vehicle then bounced off the trailer and collided with a car driven by 35-year-old Carla Mattice of St. Joseph, Missouri.
McMillin and a passenger in the vehicle she was driving, 92-year-old Lester McMillin of Spencer, were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital, along with Mattice. Their injuries were described as non-incapacitating.
300 dollars in damage was estimated to a 2008 Dodge Ram truck Braden was driving with minor damage reported to the trailer it was pulling.
Six thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2004 Buick Park Avenue driven by McMillin; and five thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2009 Chevrolet driven by Mattice.
Braden was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn.
The collision took place shortly after 3:00 p.m. Thursday.
