Three O’Brien County Men Arrested In Theft & Vandalism Case

(Primghar)– Three men from O’Brien county have been charged in connection with an October 31st vandalism and theft at a rural Hospers residence.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says the incident took place in the early morning of October 31st of this year. Deputies say they responded to a report of a building that was entered. A pickup and a four-wheeler sustained an estimated six thousand dollars in damage, and some tools were reported missing.

Authorities say a subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of 24-year-old Jason Kunkel of Sheldon. He was charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second degree and theft in the third degree. Kunkel was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

Also arrested were 19-year-old Andrew Shea of Granville and 23-year-old Christopher DeJager of Sheldon. They were both charged with criminal mischief in the third degree and were released after posting bonds of $2,000 each.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says all the tools that were missing have been recovered.
