(Milford)– Three Milford men have been named Grand Marshalls for this year’s Pioneer Days parade.
Oscar Nordblad, Bob Eilers and Mick Umscheid have been selected for their years of overseeing Milford Boy Scout Troop 170.
Nordblad, who’s 87, started as a Webelos Scout Leader in 1968. He became Assistant Scoutmaster in 1988 and currently serves as the troop’s Scout Coordinator, or liaison, between the troop and its sponsoring organization, Milford American Legion Post 384. Nordblad, who’s been retired since 1982, plans to continue working with the troop.
Eilers, who’s 66, has served since 1982 as an Assistant Scoutmaster. He retired several years ago from the Dickinson County Road Department.
And Umscheid, who’s 57, works as a maintenance technician at Rosenboom Machine and Tool in Spirit Lake. He’s been with the troop since 1988.
Pioneer Days in Milford will be held Friday, July 27th through Sunday, July 29th.
