(Milford)– Volunteers with the Milford-based Cherish center and “Thee Garage Sale” were recently honored byGovernor Terry Branstad at a ceremony in Storm Lake.
Recipients of the Governor’s Volunteer Awards included Sally Lawrence, Warren Jager, June Horstman, Jan Turner, Leona Simpson, Skeeter Lawrence, Mavis Christoffer, and Mary Hanson. All were cited for their 10 plus years of service to the organization.
The Governor’s Volunteer Awards program was established in 1982 and has been expanded over the years to include state government agencies, non-profit groups, charitable and other governmental organizations.
