The Faster Horses Flood Relief Festival Is This Saturday (June 21st) In Spencer

June 19, 2025

(Spencer)– The Faster Horses Flood Relief Festival is this Saturday (June 21st) at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer. Organizer Eli Alger says it starts at 3:00 pm with opportunities to build dog and birdhouses followed by hay rack rides and a wrestling clinic…

“We’re rolling like 1,200 square foot of wrestling mats out, right out there on the turf at the Clay County Fairgrounds. Then right after that we’re going to have all kinds of food. The Clay County Fair will be putting on all of the alcohol sales and stuff like that, so it’s going to be like a day at the fair. We’ve got the Kiwanis cookies; Blue Bunny’s been throwing down on ice cream.”

Alger says the musical entertainment gets underway at 7:00 pm…

“At 7:00 my good buddy Dalles Jacobus is going to be taking the stage, opening it up, getting you guys all warmed up, and then the Faster Horses come up the rear. Here we come. Right at about, oh I’d say 8:30, getting closer maybe to 9:00, we’ll be taking the stage and we’ll be giving you guys the best show we know how.”

The events are free, however there will be numerous opportunities to donate with the proceeds going to habitat for humanity. Alger says the goal is to raise 2 million dollars to construct 10 new homes for Clay county flood victims.

Those planning to attend Saturday’s festival should enter the Clay County Fairgrounds through Gate C.
