Teens Accused Of Stealing Stop Lights

November 22, 2014

(Orange City)– Three northwest Iowa teens face charges for allegedly stealing some stop lights in Sioux county.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Matthew Brummel of Orange City, 18-year-old Kameron Gradert of Ireton and 19-year-old Blake Kruger of Sioux Center were arrested Tuesday on charges of theft in the fourth degree…a serious misdemeanor; and interference with a traffic control device…a simple misdemeanor.

Deputies say the stop lights were stolen from a one lane bridge on a county road east of Hudson, South Dakota. The stop lights were seized from a dormitory room at Dordt College in Sioux Center where the three suspects were going to school.

Officials say there were no motor vehicle accidents as a result of the missing stop lights.

The stop lights are valued at $400 each.
