(Spencer)– A Spencer teen escaped injury in a single vehicle crash Saturday.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling southbound in the 3200 mile of 250th
Avenue when the 16-year-old driver became distracted. The vehicle traveled onto the shoulder. Deputies say the driver then over-corrected, causing the vehicle to cross the center of the road. It then went into the ditch and collided with a culvert, utility pole and a fence.
The juvenile was cited for failure to maintain control.
About $15,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle. The crash took place a little after 10:00 am.
