(Spirit Lake)– A new memorial on the grounds of the state capitol that honors teachers has some local connections to it.
Tim O’Hagan, a Physical Education teacher for the Spirit Lake Community Schools, is also the current President of the Iowa Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The memorial is located on the terrace of the northwest corner of the state capitol complex. Money for it came from private donations.
