Talks About To Get Underway To Work Out Final Details For Lower Gar Outlet Bridge

April 25, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– Talks are about to get underway to iron out final details for a bridge at the Lower Gar Outlet. The structure would replace a series of culverts at that location. As we reported previously, the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors last week reviewed a design for the bridge. The city of Milford also has jurisdiction in that area. Mayor Steve Anderson tells KUOO news the planning is moving to the next level…

“It was decided between the county and the city that we’d get a committee together to kind of work through some of the details and then bring that back to both of the boards with what we’ve kind of agreed upon, so.”

Anderson says the city wants to ensure certain amenities are included in the project…

“From the city we want to make sure that there’s some street lights out there. We want to make sure that there’s a pedestrian crossing on at least one side of it because there’s talk about a future trail going through, looping out in that area. So those are kind of the city’s concerns and items that we want to make sure that we’re part of and want to have those discussions with them.”

Plans reviewed by the county do include provisions for a trail along one side.

Anderson says how the costs would be divided up will also be a topic of discussion.
