SW Mn. Crash Injures Three

(Windom, Mn.)– A single-vehicle crash Saturday on Highway 71 in Cottonwood county injured three people.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 67-year-old Dale Meyer of Dow City, Iowa was driving a 2008 Ford pickup pulling a homemade trailer with a 1971 Starcraft and motor southbound on Highway 71 when he fell asleep at the wheel. Authorities say Meyer then overcorrected causing the vehicle and trailer to leave the road.

Meyer and two passengers, 67-year-old Arnold Luetje of Westside, Iowa and 62-year-old Paulette Luetje of Omaha were all taken to Sanford Hospital in Windom where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

The pickup and trailer were totaled.

The crash took place shortly after 1:00 p.m.
