(Ruthven)– A collision Sunday on Highway 18 in Palo Alto county involving an SUV, a car and a motorcycle sent two two people to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 22-year-old Kayla Upton of Spencer was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Blazer eastbound and was attempting to make a left turn when she collided with a westbound vehicle driven by 33-year-old Nathan Beresford of Cylinder. The impact caused Beresford’s vehicle to spin. It then collided with a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 59-year-old Michael Reinert of Ruthven.
Reinert and a passenger on his motorcycle, 24-year-old Hope Beresford of Ruthven, were taken by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. There was no immediate word on the extent of their injuries or conditions. No other injuries were reported.
Damage estimates to the vehicles weren’t immediately available.
The collision took place around 2:30 p.m. near Ruthven.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office.
