(Spencer)—An investigation into a suspicious vehicle parked at a public access near Spencer last Friday resulted in the arrests of two men on drug charges.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy discovered the vehicle parked at the Hawk Valley Nature Center east of Spencer on Highway 18 shortly after 2:00 a.m. Upon investigating, the deputy discovered one of the occupants in the vehicle, 30-year-old Curtis Tripp of Spencer, was wanted on an O’Brien county warrant for failure to appear.
Upon further investigation, the deputy found what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia along with marijuana and methamphetamine and two concealed weapons.
Tripp was charged in connection with the warrant along with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into jail on a $6,500 bond.
Another occupant in the vehicle, 18-year-old Reece Logue of Dickens, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of carrying weapons. His bond was set at $7,800.
