Suspects In Spirit Lake Trespassing Incident Enter Not Guilty Pleas

(Spirit Lake)– Three of four people from Sioux City accused of trespassing into a Spirit Lake home have pleaded not guilty to all charges. 39-year-old Nathan Richard Franklin, 25-year-old David Reyes and 31-year-old Elizabeth Lauren Frazier, were charged with trespassing in the 1st offense and have pleaded not guilty.

Franklin and Reyes were additionally charged with failure to affix a drug stamp, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a controlled substance violation. Both have pleaded not guilty and have waived their rights to a speedy trial.

A fourth person arrested in the case, Rainey Nelson, is scheduled to appear in court March 5th. Nelson has not yet entered a plea.


All four were arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, in Spirit Lake after they were found in a home on Bayside Drive. Authorities were called to the location on a suspicious person complaint.
