Stuck Vehicle Results In Arrests Of Two Men

(Spirit Lake)– A vehicle that was stuck in a snowbank over the weekend in Spirit Lake led to the arrests of two men on various charges.

Spirit Lake police say officers were called around 6:30 a.m. Sunday to the 500 block of 23rd Street where a 1989 Chevrolet S10 pickup was stuck in a snowbank.

Upon investigating it was learned the two occupants in the vehicle had allegedly been involved in some illegal activity at a Spirit Lake residence.

The driver, 18-year-old Dustin Miner of Spirit Lake, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated…a serious misdemeanor; and alcohol under the legal age, speed restriction and unsafe vehicle…all simple misdemeanors.

A passenger, 18-year-old Lance Gerdeman of Spirit Lake, was charged with alcohol under the legal age…a simple misdemeanor; and disorderly house…a simple misdemeanor.

Miner was booked into the Dickinson county jail; Gerdeman was cited and released.

The Spirit Lake Police Department was assisted in its investigation by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
