Strong Wind Gust Blows Semi Off Road

November 22, 2014

(Worthington, Mn.)– The Minnesota State Patrol says strong wind was a factor in a semi rollover Wednesday on the Highway 60 detour south of Worthington.

Troopers say 64-year-old Stephen Ahlers of Slayton was driving a 2006 Peterbuilt semi tractor pulling a trailer loaded with round bales. Authorities say the semi was entering a curve when a strong gust of wind caused it to roll.

Ahlers sustained minor injuries but wasn’t taken to a hospital.

Moderate damage was reported to the both the semi tractor and triler.

The incident took place shortly after 5:30 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office.
