March 06, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Storm Lake)– A Storm Lake man has been charged with robbery for an incident that allegedly occurred this past weekend in which a handgun was reportedly displayed.

Storm Lake police say officers this past Sunday received a report of a robbery that occurred the previous evening outside of a residence in the 200 block of East 5th Street. Police spoke with a victim who reported that a male approached them, displayed a handgun, and demanded money while the victim was standing outside the residence. The victim didn’t report any injuries, and the suspect fled the area into a nearby apartment building.

Tuesday, the Storm Lake Police Department Entry Team and Buena Vista Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at an apartment in Storm Lake. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Netipan Ludwig of Storm Lake, was located. During a search of the apartment, authorities allegedly located a BB gun pistol in Ludwig’s bedroom that matched the description of the weapon displayed in the robbery.
